About
Hello! My name is Raoul Felix.
This is where I "debug"
my way through tech, one puts
at a time.
What is this site?
Think of this website as a mix between a blog and a digital garden touching on tech-related matters.
You’ll find topics such as: software development, best practices, lessons learned, architecture and design, APIs, team dynamics, agile, product building, testing, AI, learning, writing, or any other that might spark an interest.
You can also find some additional behind the scenes information about how I built this website in my post Hello World.
Who am I?
I’m a Portuguese South African living in Lisbon, Portugal. I’ve been a coder since I was 14 and have fun transforming abstract thoughts into something concrete through code. I have transitioned between the manager / maker pendulum many times over my career. Building systems as well as building teams that build systems are very fascinating topics to me.
For a little over a decade I served as CTO at Talkdesk, a startup SaaS in the Contact Center / Customer Experience space. We grew to over 2000 people globally, raised around $500M in investments, and achieved unicorn status in 2018.
In 2022 I decided to join another startup, a Sales Engagement Platform SaaS called Amplemarket supercharged by high quality data and powerful AI capabilities. I was there for a year and a half, focused on building the product and the team (~20 in engineering) to lay a foundation for future growth.
Outside tech, I’m interested in investing, surfing, qi gong, and traveling.
What am I doing now?
